On December 2nd, TV viewers will be spoiled for choice: the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” with Florian Silbereisen or “Disney100 – The Big Anniversary Show” with Thomas Gottschalk.
Berlin/Cologne – If you are planning a big special program that ideally millions of viewers will tune in to, you should take a close look at your calendar beforehand. ARD and RTL apparently didn’t do that, because two programs will overlap in time – one cult, the other a special, both pretty big numbers.
Big Disney show for the anniversary: gala evening with well-known stars on RTL
We’re talking regarding the special “Disney100 – The Big Anniversary Show”, which RTL will broadcast on December 2nd, and the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”, which ARD is broadcasting at the same time. The fact that these two shows overlap is not only annoying for viewers, but also not a good plan when it comes to maximum ratings. Because that evening, the audience will have to choose and split up, willy-nilly. However, it might be that many decided in favor of RTL, as the Disney anniversary show is only shown on linear television and not in the stream.

The gala evening for the 100th birthday of the Walt Disney Company will be moderated by Thomas Gottschalk (73) and Victoria Swarovski (30). Guests also include Giovanni Zarella (45), Yvonne Catterfeld (43), Tom Beck (45), Alexander Klaws (40) and Sasha (51), who will sing classic Disney songs in the show. Other guests include Motsi Mabuse (42), Michael Bully Herbig (55), Riccardo Simonetti (30) and Palina Rojinski (38).
Fight for ratings: Not only ARD, but also ProSieben show competing programs
Parallel to the Disney show, the hit show “The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” runs on ARD, hosted by Florian Silbereisen (42), which always takes place on the eve of the first Advent. This year should be loud Schlager-charts.de Thomas Anders (60), Andrea Berg (57), Ella Finally (39), Roland Kaiser (71) and many other stars will be guests.
If both shows are not for you, you can switch to ProSieben. The third episode of the singing rate show “The Masked Singer” will be broadcast there on December 2nd.
