The films of The Walt Disney Company will disappear from the Okko online cinema catalog on March 19. The service published the corresponding warning today, March 17.
Among other things, from March 19, Star Wars, Home Alone, The Lion King, Mulan, Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as pictures featuring Marvel comics characters will be unavailable for viewing.
Feeds will disappear from access due to the expiration of the service’s contracts with Disney. Okko was the last Russian service where the studio’s pictures were officially available. The company made the decision to completely withdraw from the Russian market in the fall of 2022 (the company banned showing its films in Russian cinemas on March 1).
For more information on how the exit of the American company will affect the Russian film industry, see the material “Kommersant” “Disney frees the shelves.”
