Disney announces three new movies, including one starring Daisy Ridley

The interpreter of Rey will be the heroine of a new film in the intergalactic franchise, Disney announced this Friday during the Star Wars Celebration.

Rey will experience new adventures. The character played by Daisy Ridley, at the center of the third trilogy Star Wars 2010s, will be the heroine of a new film, Disney announced this Friday in London during the Star Wars Celebration.

Still untitled, this feature film will take place 15 years following the events told in Episode IX, and will show how Rey will rebuild the Jedi order. This film will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders).

Disney has announced two more spin-off films Star Wars. A second film will be directed by James Mangold (Loganthe next Indiana Jones). The action will take place 25,000 years in the past, and will tell the story of the first Jedi.

A film by the creator of “The Mandalorian”

The third and final film announced on Friday will be directed by Dave Filoni, a key figure in the series Star Wars from Disney+ (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett). This feature film will take place during the New Republic.

The New Republic designates the period following the events recounted in Return of the Jedifollowing the destruction of the second Death Star, and the demise of Emperor Palpatine, thanks to the Rebels’ victory at the Battle of Endor.

Other feature film projects are in development. But those initiated by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Kevin Feige (le patron de Marvel Studios), Rian Johnson (The Last Jedi) and Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok) seem to have stalled.
