The Walt Disney Company said Friday that it has paused on X. Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that it will not be on Elon Musk’s social media platform for the time being. According to the American news site CNBC, several other media companies, including Comcast and Paramount Global, have also temporarily stopped on X.
X owner Elon Musk is under heavy fire because he recently responded to a post on Musk responded with: “You are telling the truth.”
Apple previously announced that it would temporarily stop on X due to anti-Semitism on the social media platform. Advertisements from the iPhone maker are said to have appeared with hateful and anti-Semitic messages on the platform.
The White House condemned Musk on Friday for his “abhorrent promotion” of anti-Semitism. A spokesperson said that “promotion of anti-Semitism and racist hatred is condemned in the strongest possible terms because it goes against the core values of Americans.”
