A worker was brought to trial for an incident in which an intern was subjected to hazing at a company in Soignies on January 14, 2022. According to Sudinfo, during a moment of laughter in the locker room, the 16-and-a-half-year-old intern was tackled to the ground and had a worker place his genitalia on his forehead, an act known as a “blip”. Shockingly, nobody in the room reacted while the trainee tried to vomit in disgust. The dismissed worker was fired by the company and has been charged with violation of the sexual integrity of a minor trainee, as he had authority over him, according to Sudinfo. The prosecution is seeking a one-year suspended prison sentence, although the worker denies the allegations, claiming he only mimicked the gesture with his fingers.

During a moment of laughter between colleagues, in the locker room of the company, the young intern aged 16 and a half undergoes a sort of hazing. Everyone is spoofing and the trainee is then tackled to the ground, as reported by Sudinfo.

Suddenly, a worker approaches him, opens his fly and takes out his private parts. Under everyone’s eyes, the worker will then place his penis on the trainee’s forehead and hit him lightly. This is called a “blip”.

nobody reacts

Shocked by such an act, no one reacted in the locker room. I saw him slap his cock on the young man’s forehead. I blame myself, I should have reacted”, one of the colleagues told Sudinfo. The trainee, disgusted, tries to vomit.

Subsequently, he will unfortunately miss his internship. And he won’t dare talk regarding this to his father until 2 weeks later. He must consult a psychologist and take antidepressants, according to our colleagues.

The dismissed worker

As for the worker, he was fired by the company. He appeared before the Hainaut court, Mons division, on Tuesday. He must answer for violation of the sexual integrity of the 16-year-old, with the circumstance that he had authority over the minor trainee – hence the vulnerability of the victim, as detailed by Sudinfo. The prosecution is asking for a one-year suspended prison sentence.

He denies the facts and assures that he mimicked the gesture by sticking his fingers through the fly.

It is a sad reminder that such behavior can have a lasting impact on the victim and should never be tolerated. It is commendable that the company took swift action by firing the worker and that justice is being sought for the victim. We hope that this serves as a lesson to others and that steps are taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
