After the dismissal of Trump’s favorite media personality from “Fox News”
A few hours following the decision to dismiss Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, the latter received a job offer from Russia Today, and an open invitation to visit Russia.
Vladimir Soloev, one of the most prominent commentators on the station, said: “We are pleased to offer you a job opportunity to continue as a broadcaster and host! You are always welcome in Russia and Moscow and we wish you good luck.”
In an e-mail, Soloyov called on Carlson to run for the presidency of the United States, saying: “We appreciate and support you in every step you decide, whether to run for the presidency of the United States (which you must do) or start an independent media project.”
And the “Fox News” network announced the expulsion of Carlson, former President Donald Trump’s favorite broadcaster, despite the high viewership of his weekly program, which reached 334,000 viewers last week, a rate that more than doubled the viewership of competing stations such as CNN. and MSNBC.
Immediately following the announcement of this decision, the station’s shares fell by 5 percent, losing more than $500 million of its market value.
And “Fox” made the decision to dismiss following Carlson placed it in a critical judicial position, which culminated in the “defamation” case, in which Dominion accused the station of defaming it by promoting that its voting machines rigged the 2020 presidential elections and changed millions of votes from Trump in favor of Biden.
