The 58-year-old woman, who was arrested two days ago for the murder of François Vigouroux, was referred this Friday, July 1, 2022 to the Perpignan courthouse.
On May 26, the relatives of François Vigouroux, a 57-year-old resident of Ille-sur-Têt, reported his disappearance to the police. According to the first declarations, the man had left his home the same day at the end of the followingnoon for a bike ride in the direction of Thuir and was to return to dinner with his son for 7.30 p.m. However, he was not never reappeared at his home.
Despite the research undertaken, François Vigouroux, described as “friendly” et “without history”, remained untraceable until a week later, on June 1 precisely, his body was discovered by a walker below the road, at the level of the junction of roads D2 and D21 near the site of the Organs of He.
His body then showed serious abuse and would have been cut at the level of the trunk before being abandoned in two separate bags. The thickest mystery then surrounded this affair and the investigations followed their course, carried out by the gendarmes of the research section of Montpellier in search of a track.
“Never condemned in the past”
However, a month following the macabre discovery, the investigators managed to identify a suspect. A 58-year-old woman who was arrested on Wednesday June 29 and immediately placed in police custody.
At the end of her hearing, she was referred to the Perpignan prosecutor’s office this Friday, July 1 in the morning. She “was indicted for murder” confirms the public prosecutor of Perpignan Jean-David Cavaillé, then immediately “imprisoned“. This is a relative of the victim, “of the family environment”adds the prosecution without wanting to provide more elements that might harm the continuation of the investigation.
Because many gray areas and questions remain in this file. Starting with the motive for this crime. A sentimental affair? Revenge ? Why this woman “never condemned in the past” specifies the prosecutor, would she have killed François Vigouroux with such relentlessness on his remains? What is the exact cause of François Vigouroux’s death? Could she have acted alone, especially given the victim’s large build? Would she have given him an appointment or would she have surprised him on his way? What is the degree of real involvement of this woman in this murder? We are still far, it seems, from knowing all the answers to this multitude of questions.
