Dismantling the Christmas tree, one person died, 5 people were injured

While dismantling the Christmas tree at the chapel in My Duc commune (Da Teh district), the tree fell and became entangled in the medium voltage wire. The incident left one person dead and five others seriously injured.

The accident happened around 10:30 on February 4, at a chapel in hamlet 1, My Duc commune, Da Teh district, Lam Dong province.

At that time, a group of 6 people together dismantled the Christmas tree, but the fallen tree was entangled in a nearby medium voltage power line, causing all 6 people to be electrocuted.

The accident caused Mr. Pham Ba Long (44 years old, living in My Duc commune) to die, while the other 5 people living in My Duc commune were seriously injured.

According to Da Teh District Medical Center, following receiving information, the unit sent an ambulance to the scene with doctors and doctors to give first aid to the victims and then transferred to the emergency room for treatment.

Mr. Tong Giang Nam, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Teh district, informed that he directed the district health center to focus on treating and caring for the victims; At the same time, he directed the authorities and the People’s Committee of My Duc Commune to quickly support the families of the deceased and injured both physically and mentally.

At 14:00 on the same day, 3 victims with severe burns were transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment, the other 2 with milder injuries were being treated at the Da Teh District Medical Center.

Da Teh district police are blocking the scene, investigating the cause.
