Disease outlet.. A medical alert to the point of infiltration of diseases into the body

When many people hear regarding oral hygiene, they think that brushing and flossing teeth achieve perfect prevention, while this is not the case, because many bacteria enter the body through this port, and may lead to painful disorders.

According to the New York Times, the human mouth is a very convenient point for the entry and reproduction of bacteria that may lead to a number of diseases.

The mouth is a suitable medium for bacteria because it is dark and not exposed to light, and it is also warm and wet with saliva, in addition to receiving food and the presence of nutrients that ensure the continuation of microorganisms.

When bacteria accumulate around the teeth, the human gums are exposed to the disease, and then the effect extends to the rest of the body, according to researcher Kimberly Bray, a research professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA.

Recent medical research revealed that gum disease is linked to a long list of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory infection and dementia.

And the American researcher explains that there is a great lack of medical studies that are being conducted on the way bacteria in the mouth affect health in general.

In the United States, for example, 47 percent of adults over thirty years of age say they have a periodontal disorder.

In the early stage of gum disease, they may be swollen and red, may become more moist, and bleed frequently.

And if the gums become infected and are not treated, then the bacteria and their toxic components may move from the surface of the gums and teeth and go to the blood circulation, and then spread to the rest of the organs, according to the researcher in epidemiology at New York University, Ananda Dasaniaki.

Earlier, researchers had alerted that gum disorder increases the risk of developing diabetes, and tried to understand how this happened.

The researchers found that gum disease causes inflammation in the body, affecting the body’s ability to respond to the hormone insulin.
