Understanding the effects of proteins that promote the appearance of metastases

Cancer is scary; metastases even more. These secondary tumors which appear far from the main tumor interested the molecular biology researcher Guillaume Serwe. Our columnist Véronick Raymond met with him to talk regarding the promising results he obtained following more than three years of research.
We have discovered a protein which, when present, promotes the ability of cancer cells to move. When we remove this protein called CNK2, the cells are slower and move less
summarizes Guillaume Serwe.
Véronick Raymond explains the highlights of this discovery.
