A piece of the cultural history of the Bohemian Forest, a piece of world history in private: the Museum Fotoatelier Seidel in Český Krumlov – a slightly different visit to the uppermost Vltava.
It’s not like Český Krumlov has yet to be discovered. There is the mighty castle that sits high above the town, as if it had come from a vision by Franz Kafka. There is the baroque palace theater, the only one of its kind, complete with stage machinery, brochures and laces, preserved in its original form, as if Prince Schwarzenberg had just left it. There is the Egon Schiele Art Center with its small, fine exhibition of the biography and work of its namesake and always surprising temporary exhibitions of contemporary Czech art. And last but not least, there is the town itself with its narrow streets and picturesque squares, beautifully squeezed together in a Vltava loop.

All of this has been the destination of international tourist flows for years, much described and even more admired. And yet, even in Český Krumlov, little noticed by the tourist community, there are still many small miracles waiting to be appreciated for their value.
