On April 16, 17 and 18, Seido Systems will put the spotlight on one application area for 3D printing. During the Seido Experience Days, the dealer of Stratasys 3D printers, among others, wants to take visitors into the complete workflow of a specific application in order to eliminate prejudices and properly highlight the opportunities.
“During these three days we will show what is really possible with 3D printing,” says Karl Wallecan, who started distributing the professional Stratasys 3D printers more than fifteen years ago. He thinks it is time for an event in which the truth regarding 3D printing is told. Karl Wallecan: “We are going to make that clear by showing visitors all the steps.” This gives visitors a realistic picture of what is possible and what needs to be done.
Complete workflow voor prototyping, dental en manufacturing
Seido Experience Days starts on April 16 with the theme of prototyping and software, including GrabCAD for print. On April 17, 3D printing of dental applications is on the program and on April 18 it is the manufacturing industry’s turn. That day the entire workflow surrounding the 3D printing of tooling and end parts will be shown. The event takes place in the Seido Systems showroom, where five 3D technologies are on display, and in the production areas of sister company Seido Solutions in Wevelgem (Kortrijk). There, participants can see all the steps that follow before and following 3D printing, so that they get a realistic idea of the possibilities and what is involved. “3D printing belongs in the toolbox of a production company. But it was wrong to think that you can replace everything with 3D printing,” Karl Wallecan said late last year in an interview with Andy Langfeld, President of Stratasys EMEA.
Production space for 3D printing service has been significantly expanded
In recent months, Seido Solutions has significantly expanded the production areas in Wevelgem. As a result, the 3D printing service company now has more than 200 square meters of production space where all types of FDM printers from Stratasys are located, including 12 Fortus machines, 2 SAF powder bed printers, an F770 for printing larger tooling, various Origin One printers and from next year the new Stratasys F3300. There is also a 3D metal printer from Xact Metal. In addition, there is a room of 80 square meters where all post-processing is done. “Visitors see every step in the process, from the preparation of the file to the post-processing,” summarizes Karl Wallecan. This is supplemented with presentations by Stratasys specialists.
Different mindset
“Many companies can start tomorrow, but their fear of change is greater. 3D printing as a production technique is a matter of mindset, of different design, of different revenue models,” the European Stratasys CEO recently said in the interview. The Seido Experience Days provide the impetus for this different mindset.
Participation in Seido Experience Days is free, but advance registration is a must. You can choose from a morning program (from 10 am including lunch) or an followingnoon program (starts with lunch, followed by presentations and tours). More information can be found here.
