Sharjah ∙ Sharjah Safari Park will open tomorrow to welcome visitors for the new season. This year’s attraction is the Sharjah Safari Amphitheater with a special display of African animals and birds. Also, the wildlife collection has been expanded to include more reptiles, birds and animals, giving the visitors a delightful sight. It is the largest safari park in the world outside of Africa.
Entry is from 8.30 am to 6 pm. Adults cost Dhs 40 and children cost Dhs 15. Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) Chairperson Hana Saif Al Suwaidi said there are different packages for adults ranging from Dh120 to Dh275 to enjoy the views through the wildlife sanctuary. Trekking through wetlands, valleys, waterfalls and mountains will give you a different experience. The park is modeled following 12 regions of Africa, such as the Sahel, Niger Valley and Savannah, covering an area of 8 square kilometers within the Al Bridi Natural Reserve in Aldeid.
Along with lions, elephants and giraffes, there are many bird species that are threatened with extinction.
