Discover the Spectacular Sound Story of Wallonia at the Confluence: A Visual Journey through History

It was on the Confluence that most of the crowd was concentrated. L’Enjambée and the banks of the Sambre have also largely found their audience. The show was offered to the crowd for a little over 20 minutes in the form of a sound story evoking the history of the “Wallos” and more broadly Wallonia. The projections were carried out on the Walloon Parliament, the Halle Al’Chair and the Delta, the citadel also having laser illumination.

It was first of all François Bovesse, Namur politician at the origin of the Fêtes de Wallonie, who was at the heart of the show. Namur folk groups such as the Molons and the Echasseurs also had their moment of glory. Without forgetting the Gilles de Binche or the Doudou de Mons, but also other Walloon prides such as the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville or the Palace of the Princes-Bishops of Liège. All this, interspersed with archive images of the “Wallos”.

“The biggest difficulty was ultimately making the place dark enough,” commented Benoit Meurens, co-director of Tour des Sites. “All public lighting was cut off, as were the many roads passing through the Confluence. We even had to ensure that all the shutters of the Walloon Parliament were properly closed so that the result was optimal.

The show will again take place every evening at 9:30 p.m. until Tuesday.
