According to Dr. Adam, sunflower seeds will give your skin a boost of vitamin E, which is “a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from the effects of UV rays.”

Dr. Adam emphasized that eating these seeds should not replace daily sunscreen application. He noted that apart from helping protect your skin from UV rays, vitamin E is also essential in the production of collagen and elastin, which keeps your skin firm and clean.

Eating just a small amount (30g) of sunflower seeds will equal 66% of the recommended daily amount of vitamin E, according to Dr. Adam.

According to the National Health Service (NHS), women need regarding 3mg of vitamin E per day, while men should get 4mg.
