Tesla is preparing a revised version of the Model 3, which is scheduled for release at the end of 2023. Some images of this prototype have surfaced on the net, causing the canvas to boil.
In 2017, the Tesla Model 3 debuted as a compact electric sedan sporting a rather anonymous, albeit brand-specific, face. Since then, this electric car has hardly changed. However, rumors of a major update to Tesla’s Model 3 started circulating in late 2022. On April 12, leaked images of the highly anticipated facelifted Model 3 were revealed.
Is the Tesla Model 3 getting a makeover?
An unlikely event changed everything we knew regarding the new version of the Model 3. A photo of what this new version looks like was shared on Reddit on April 12, 2023. Although the car in the photo is partially covered, it already displays some notable differences from the existing Model 3.
The new front design looks simplified compared to the current Model 3, although it retains its relatively anonymous style. Ilack of fog lights on the car is another notable feature. This decision has caused a lot of controversy, since fog lights make driving in fog easier. Indeed, being positioned closer to the ground, they reduce the risk of glare.
The photo also reveals changes to the vehicle’s bumper. The latter is now easy to repair in case of breakage. In addition, the central screen seems to be tilted slightly towards the driver. The latter might thus more easily consult the information relating to the infotainment system of the vehicle.
No official statement on the alleged updates
It is difficult to confirm the authenticity of these images of the so-called revised version of the Model 3. Moreover, theadded new screen in the new Model 3 goes once morest Tesla’s philosophy. Indeed, a video circulating on the networks reveals what appears to be a modified dashboard of a Tesla Model S. We see a caliper and a dashboard behind it, in addition to the huge central screen. However, the materials used have lower costwhich might indicate that it is not a Model S/X dashboard.
At this time, Tesla has not commented on the changes planned for the Model 3 or other existing cars. Lately, attention has been on the much-maligned Cybertruck and the aforementioned Roadster. The first has been in development for almost 4 years. As for the second, it was announced before the Model 3 went on sale and has not yet seen the light of day.
All of this means it’s unclear when the new Model 3 will hit the market. It looks like Tesla is on track to deliver some of its promised products from 2023. This might be a sign that the brand is starting to speed up its processes to deal with more streamlined competition.
