Discover the ranking of the cheapest supermarkets for shopping in 2022 produced by the consumer association UFC-Que Choisir

The consumer association UFC-Que Choisir has just revealed its ranking of the cheapest supermarkets for shopping in 2022. A long-awaited study, while supermarket competition is raging, especially in this period of inflation. Moreover, the war between Ukraine and Russia should not help the situation regarding the price increase. The French are therefore on the lookout to seize the slightest opportunity to save money. The UFC-Que Choisir survey aims to determine which brand should be favored so that the amount displayed on the receipt is less expensive.

To carry out this study, the members of UFC-Que Choisir have set up identical shopping carts in more than 10,000 supermarkets across France.

The Casino group is in 8th position with an average of 408 euros, followed by the Auchan brand with an average basket price of 381 euros. Carrefour comes 6th behind Cora and Système U, with an average price of 372, 370 and 365 euros respectively.

On the podium, we find the Belgian brand Colruyt established in France since 1997. Finally, on the two highest steps, the Intermarché group with an average of 356 euros and the subsidiary Leclerc, which would therefore be according to UFC-Que Choisir le Supermarché the cheapest with an average price of 348 euros.
