Cocorico, Paris has been ranked first among the ‘most powerful and important tourist cities in the world’, by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Paris is ahead of Beijing (China) and Orlando (United States)
Specializing in the travel sector and a British non-profit organization, the WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) has placed Paris in the lead as ‘The most touristic city in the world’.
Paris has regained 90% of the attendance it had in 2019
It must be said that last year, tourists have returned to Paris after 2 years of slump, the city of light has regained 90% of the attendance it had in 2019 even if Asian tourists have still not returned.
In 2022, 34.5 million tourists visited Greater Paris. However, this still represents a decrease of 10.3% compared to 2019. In terms of the World Travel and Tourism Council ranking, Paris is ahead of Beijing (China) and Orlando (United States).
To achieve this ranking, WTTC compiled tourism data from the past year to define the destinations where travelers spent the most money. The amount of investment for the national and local government sector as well as businesses also mattered.

Last December and in another study by ‘Euromonitor International’, Paris also took first place ahead of Dubai and Amsterdam. In the ranking that we propose above, Dubai is the big absent from this top 10.
