The New England are six small states in the northeast of the USA, on the Canadian border. Cradle of America and the American Revolution, it is where the history of what would one day become the United States of America began.

But, more than that, the region is also a mecca for ecotourism with harsh and even sometimes wild nature. Whether it is its interior forests as well as its sometimes tormented coastline.

It is precisely on the edge of the ocean that we bring you today, with ten corners that could be described as magical (this is sometimes true for some a little out of season…). So, leaving the Canadian border towards New York, we offer you…

Acadia National Park (Maine)

This national park is located off the coast of Maine on an island connected by a bridge to the mainland. The place is a mecca for nature tourism and outdoor activities in the region. You can hike, fish, cycle, canoe, watch birds, or more simply enjoy the landscapes to discover along small, very pleasant picturesque roads.

Bar Harbor (Maine)

It is the main settlement on Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park. People come there for vacation or to enjoy the landscapes and outdoor activities of all kinds that the 280 km2 of the island can offer. It is also in Bar Harbor and on the island that the writer Marguerite Yourcenar lived a large part of her life and is buried.

Mid Coast (Maine)

It is the coastal part of the state of Maine which runs from the north of the city of Portland towards the Canadian border with places like Boothbay Harbor, Kennebunkport, Rockport and Ogunquit. Along the Atlantic coast, we discover beaches and remarkable seascapes exposed to the elements…

Cape Cod (Massachusetts)

This peninsula is a piece of American history. The first Europeans who crossed the American coasts certainly did so in its surroundings, but it was especially with the arrival of the Mayflower which “officialized” the colonization of the country on November 11, 1620 that the place remained in History.
Nowadays, Cape Cod is “the” vacation destination in the region for its superb seascapes, its beaches, but also its walking opportunities and whale watching in season.

Hyannis (Massachusetts)

Hyannis is one of many seaside resorts in Massachusetts and the Cape Cod peninsula. It is also one of the seven “villages” which constitute the agglomeration of Barnstable. In addition to the beaches, its marina, seaside activities and the beautiful surrounding environment, the locality also offers its visitors the JFK Hyannis Museum; the Kennedy family owns several residences in the town.

Martha’s Vineyard (Massachusetts)

“The Vineyard” as it is often called is one of those chic New England places sought after for decades by celebrities and other wealthy personalities. With its pleasant climate, its colorful houses, its long beaches and pretty landscapes, the island has become a famous tourist and resort area, including for several American presidents.

Nantucket (Massachusetts)

Like its neighbor Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket has the same tourist attractions as this one with its beautiful landscapes, its long beaches and a pleasant climate. Very sought after, the island which was once an important whaling port is now a renowned vacation spot appreciated by a fairly wealthy public.

Narragansett (Rhode Island)

This city, whose name comes from the first Indian tribes who lived there, is known for the pretty bay of the same name in which it is nestled and especially for its beaches. In fact, they even have the reputation of being the “best beaches” in all of New England.

Block Island (Rhode Island)

This small island, about ten miles from the coast of Rhode Island to which it is attached, is appreciated for its setting and its coastline, partly classified as a nature reserve. People also come here for walks or bike rides, sailing, and beautiful, pleasant beaches in summer.

Mystic (Connecticut)

Like many small ports in this part of New England, Mystic has a certain charm with a more or less historical maritime heritage. Its few old boats moored along the port, its aquarium known for housing large marine mammals, as well as one of the oldest museums on the continent dedicated to the sea, now make it a popular and quite touristy place on the coast.
