Today (Aug. 16), Prof. Yong Phuwarawan, M.D., Head of the Center of Excellence in Clinical Virology Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University has released a message revealing that Thai COVID is likely to change the strain from XBB to EG.5.1 according to Europe-America.

“The strain of COVID-19 is changing to EG.5.1 or Eris.
