Immortals of Aveum was originally scheduled to launch yesterday, but was pushed back to August 22nd a month ago. That doesn’t mean Ascendant and EA are leaving us empty-handed this weekend. Michael Kirkbride, designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Batman: The Enemy Within and various other games, answers many questions regarding the lore and stories that await. We’re in Immortals of Aveum on the blog. That includes reassuring those who fear it will be another fantasy game, with English spoken so medieval that Shakespeare would scratch his head. He sounds like the developers are well aware of the many pitfalls that most fantasy games fall into, and that this is an adventure game, which means we’re going to be lighter and more modern in a world of magic and dragons. This also applies to Jack’s, as well as our companions. Devyn and Zendara might seem like your regular goofs and serious brawns that you always screw up, but while the second movie below introduces them that way, Kirkbride describes Devyn as one of the best fighters in the world, and as she gets to know Jack better, we’ll see another side of Zandalar. After reading this article and watching both films below, I’m cautiously optimistic regarding the story, as I don’t get the bad vibes I get from watching many Forspoken trailers.
