Fatshark didn’t have a new game or anything like that to show off at Gamescom, but they did give us a look at two very exciting updates to their popular horde action games, Vermintide 2 and Darktide. With regards to the former, fans will finally get a look at the final career of Fire Mage Sienna, who is now a Necromancer with the fourth subclass option. This subcategory, the professions, whatever you like to call it, stands out distinctly from anything we’ve seen before, whether it’s regarding Sienna or Vermintide 2 as a whole. The first thing you’ll notice is Sienna’s appearance, which in this subclass is darker and more gloomy, befitting a mage who trades out the flashy effects of fire for raising the dead. We’re not only seeing changes in Sienna’s outfit, as she’s now getting a flashy new weapon in the form of a scythe that emits gorgeous blue flames and a staff with a ribcage on top. cute. The scythe is a heavy weapon that moves slower than most, but not badly paced. It feels like it has a nice weight to it, which will definitely account for your clearing out swaths of enemies at close range. The staff also emits blue flames that can do good damage at a distance. Its projectiles also tether to various enemies, once more suggesting that this class will excel at controlling larger, weaker groups of enemies. Here’s an ad: Actually, though, the best way to fight an army is to fight your own. Sienna’s class ability in this subclass is to summon an army of six skeletons, each with its own name, commanded using the skeleton located in your 4th inventory slot. If you don’t give them an order, they’ll still attack nearby enemies, and can be a great way to absorb damage while unleashing some of their own. They’re not strong fighters, and it takes a few hits to bring down a basic rat even on recruit difficulty, but I think the main use of these skeletons is that they act as damage sponges, not damage dealers. We didn’t see the talents you might pick in this subclass, but it’s guaranteed that you’ll be able to assign your bone minions to different roles depending on which talents you choose. As someone who wasn’t a mainstay in Sienna by any means, I have to say that this subclass has me very excited to start playing as a Necromancer. The visuals are top-notch, and the gameplay is smooth. I can see it being a little strong at first, but that’s been the case with every DLC subclass introduced so far. Maybe we’ll see some changes to skeletons over time, but it doesn’t feel like they’ll need much to adapt to other classes. What stands out from this new Sienna career start is that it doesn’t feel like it’s meant for any one of her roles. This time around, instead of letting her tank damage, crowd control, or snipe enemies from a distance, her gear is geared toward a variety of threats, and it might be a good one for those who enjoy playing solo as well as teaming up with friends. choice. When the DLC releases in October, we’ll have to see if it stacks up to the higher difficulty options. Here is an ad:
