Since June 16, in Brussels, Charleroi, Hasselt, Louvain, Mons or Roeselare, the roller bike parade has moved from town to town. Sunday followingnoon, she passed through Wavre, before heading back to Nivelles with an appointment set for this Wednesday at 7 p.m. at rue du Zéphyr in the 4 vents car park. The roller bike parade is one of the usual gatherings of Wavre sur herbe entertainment.
Wavre sur grass which has just been inaugurated and which will liven up Place Cardinal Mercier until Sunday 3 September. But Sunday at 2:30 p.m., it was the meeting point for the first participants in this edition of the roller bike parade on the Wavre sur herbe site. While waiting for the scheduled departure at 3 p.m., some groups took advantage of the rare squares of shade before taking the start. Others have grass to put on their rollerblades, like Jean-Pierre who came from Charleroi with his son Amaury. “Last Friday, we took part in the one in Mons. It was very nice. I thought I was a little rusty, like my skates, but in the end my feelings were good, explains Jean-Pierre happily, pulling up his knee pads. We found it to be a great activity, well organized, well supervised and also free. We have it discovered by chance on the internet. We said to ourselves that we would renew the experience. And here we are. Today, we are going to discover Wavre on rollerblades, smiled Jean-Pierre, before adding. I see that there is animation. I think we’re going to have another great followingnoon.”
And it is true that the atmosphere is very friendly and very family with a course really accessible to everyone. The route of this edition of the roller bike parade is also identical to that of other years, namely a 4km loop which passes through the rue de Bruxelles before joining Basse-Wavre via the avenue du center sportif and returning towards the center via avenue de la Belle Voie.

Like every year, the most seasoned can double the loop and therefore cover 8km. We will also note, as always, the Wavrian police officers, on bicycles, are also numerous to frame this long procession always preceded by a large 4×4, whose DJ installed in the back balances the decibels to give the tempo to the rollerblades and others machines with small and large wheels.
But this is only the first part because the rest of the procession is made up of all the cyclists who systematically precede the broom wagon in case there are small failures.
All in all, this edition of the roller parade attracted as many people as in other years. This time there were 158 participants at the start, including a Jack Russell in a bicycle basket, and a Cuistax chartered by Vitamine Z, the Wavre youth center to supply participants with fresh water.
