Dr. Gad Al-Qadi, head of the Egyptian National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, revealed the details of the last solar eclipse and lunar eclipse in the current year 2023, which will occur this month of October. Al-Qadi said – in a statement to the Middle East News Agency today – that on October 14, corresponding to the 29th of Rabi’ al-Awwal of the Hijri year 1445, the Earth will witness a solar eclipse, which is of the annular type, and the timing of its middle coincides with the conjunction of the month of Rabi’ al-Akhir of the year 1445, and it will not be seen in Egypt. He added that at the peak of the annular eclipse, the lunar disk covers regarding 95.2 of the entire disk of the sun, and the eclipse from its beginning to its end will take approximately 5 hours and 52 minutes, and the annular eclipse takes a period of 5 minutes and 17.2 seconds. He explained that the annular eclipse will be seen in parts of the United States of America, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, South America and Central America, while it will be seen as a partial eclipse in West Africa, North America, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Arctic continent. Regarding the last lunar eclipse in 2023, he indicated that it will occur on October 28, corresponding to the 13th of Rabi’ al-Akhir of the Hijri year 1445. It is of the partial type and the timing of its middle coincides with the full moon of the month of Rabi’ al-Akhir 1445, and it can be seen in Egypt.
