It’s the most anticipated sci-fi series of the year on Netflix and its final trailer has just been revealed. Check out the latest breathtaking images from the “3-Body Problem”.
It is the most anticipated science fiction series on Netflix in 2024 and for good reason, it is an adaptation of the first novel of a literary trilogy recognized in the field. Written by Liu Cixin, this fiction describes humanity’s first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization.
We owe the adaptation of the first Asian novel to win the Hugo Award for best novel in 2014 to the duo David Benioff and DB Weiss, the showrunners of Game of Thrones, and to the screenwriter and producer Alexander Woo (True Blood).
This large-scale transposition for this literary masterpiece that is The 3-Body Problem, often compared to 2001: A Space Odyssey, for which Liu Cixin participates as producer and consultant, combines anticipation, action , science and extra-terrestrial phenomena and promises a complex plot and breathtaking plans.
The first images revealed of the series last year were already promising but the final trailer, recently unveiled by Netflix at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, confirms the trend of a future masterpiece of the small screen .
The 3-Body Problem cast includes Eiza González (Baby Driver), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), John Bradley, Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce, all three seen in Game of Thrones, Rosalind Chao (Mulan), Ben Schnetzer (Y: the last man) and Eve Ridley (Casualty), among others.

The official synopsis of the 3-Body Problem is as follows:
A decision made by a young woman in China in the 1960s has spatio-temporal repercussions even in the present. When the laws of nature inexplicably crumble before the eyes of a tight-knit group of brilliant scientists, they join forces with those of an unyielding detective to confront the greatest threat in human history.
The eight episodes of the first season of The 3-Body Problem, directed by Derek Tsang, Andrew Stanton, Minkie Spiro and Jeremy Podeswa and enhanced by the music of Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld), will be available to discover on March 21 on Netflix.
