Al-Marsad newspaper: The writer Khaled Al-Sulaiman told the story of a citizen who rented his building in Al-Batha to a number of residency violators, and years later it was a surprise.
mansion turned for hotel
Al-Sulaiman said, in his article, “It was discovered that his building in Batha was a hotel!”, published in the newspaper, “Okaz”: “The news of the Asir police throwing a citizen who rented a residence to a number of residence violators, reminded me of a story of the father, may God have mercy on him, when he was residing in Kuwait while working as a cultural attaché. On one of his visits to Riyadh, he asked me to take him to the famous “Al-Batha” neighborhood to inspect an old property he owned when Al-Batha was a commercial center in the capital, Riyadh. Upon reaching the building, he had assigned the task of renting it to a real estate office for years. Asians are sleeping in the spaces while the building appears to be in a dilapidated state.”
Building exhausted
He pointed out: “It was later discovered that the real estate office rented the building to a person and neglected the follow-up, and this person turned it into a shelter with individual fees for more than 100 workers, in whom the regular resident mixed with the violator of the system, and within one week the father got rid of the property by selling it following he informed the competent authorities to clear his responsibility.” And when I asked him regarding the reason for his urgency, he said for two reasons, the first of which is to get rid of the responsibility for the illegal accommodation, and the second is a heavy feeling of bearing the responsibility of dozens of souls if the dilapidated building collapses while it is being used beyond its capacity!
beds and the brushes
He continued: “The sight of dozens of beds and floor mats was astonishing, while the entry and exit of the workforce without stopping or caring for our presence made me feel as if it was a tenth-class hotel!”
Scenes Batha
He continued, “I don’t think the situation has changed much from that moment. Al-Batha is still a stable for illegal workers and a market for chaotic trade, and we all remember the television report broadcast by the Al-Ekhbariya channel of our colleague Abdullah Al-Ruwais, revealing the irregularities going on behind the scenes in Al-Batha!”
employment the offense
He concluded: “I conclude from the article on two points: the first is to be wary of the consequences of harboring violating workers, and the second is the importance of developing the Batha neighborhood to restore its luster.”
