Kingdom’s tourism strategy aims to attract 100 million new visitors by 2030
Saudi Arabia’s tourism revenue more than tripled in the first quarter of 2023 to $9.86 billion. Inbound tourism revenue rose 225% from the first quarter of 2022 as tourist numbers increased significantly, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Around 7.8 million people visited Saudi Arabia in the first three months of 2023, a 64% increase from the same period in 2019.
The kingdom’s tourism strategy aims to attract 100 million new visitors and create one million new jobs in the sector by 2030.
Saudi Arabia became the second fastest growing tourist destination in the first quarter of 2023, according to World Tourism Organization data released in May.
