NASA experts published unique, never-before-seen images of one of Saturn’s moons, and people say it looks like ravioli pasta. According to the New York Post, the images were taken from the Cassini spacecraft. It shows the unique moon with a new level of detail. According to the space agency, the hills around the equator have similar characteristics to Atlas, another moon orbiting Saturn. These hills give the unique “dumpling” shape. The publication explained that the moon revolves around Saturn between the gaps in the planet’s rings. It completes its orbit approximately once every 13.8 hours, at an altitude of 83,000 miles. The two images of the “Ravioli Moon” show the perspective of the Cassini spacecraft in a close encounter. Pan’s moon was originally discovered 9 years ago by the Voyager 2 spacecraft, according to the British Daily Star newspaper. According to the Space website, Saturn has 145 moons currently recognized by the International Astronomical Union. 62 of them were found earlier this year by a team of scientists.
