We now know almost everything regarding the Lenovo Go, the portable console from the Chinese manufacturer Lenovo. After first rumors at the end of July, the entire technical sheet of the device leaked to the American media Windows Reportahead of the big IFA show where it will be officially announced.

A large 8.8 inch screen

We knew it since last week: Lenovo’s portable console will ship an AMD Ryzen Z1 chip (the same as the Rog Ally) coupled to an AMD RDNA 3 architecture GPU. There will also be 16 GB of RAM in LPDDR5X clocked at 7500 MHz as well as a storage capacity ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB in NVMe. But the most ambitious thing regarding the Lenovo Go is its screen.

The console has a large 8.8-inch screen in QHD + (2560 x 1600) at a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a diagonal well above the Steam Deck and the Asus ROG Ally. However, we remain on IPS, it is a long road to the adoption of OLED on portable consoles, only the Nintendo Switch has taken the plunge.

Another important detail of this technical sheet: the weight of the console. We know that it will offer detachable controllers like the Nintendo Switch, but for a much larger footprint. The Lenovo Go will weigh 854 grams with the controllers attached and 640 grams without. We are therefore far from the 608 grams of the ROG Ally and even the 650 of the Steam Deck. It was to be expected for such a diagonal. Finally, the console will run without surprise on Windows 11 while waiting, we hope, for a version of the OS optimized for portable consoles.

Finally, Lenovo intends to offer a whole range of accessories compatible with the console at the outlet. First, augmented reality glasses, the Lenovo Legion Glasses, which can connect to the Lenovo Legion Go, but also to other devices (running on Windows or macOS). These embed Micro OLED screens at a definition of 1920 by 1080. The brand will also offer 7.1 wired headphones in RGB, the Lenovo Legion E510.

Lenovo Go: Price and Availability

This final leak confirmed the price and launch date of the portable console. The Lenovo Go will be released in October 2023 for the recommended price of 799 euros. The Lenovo Legion Glasses augmented reality glasses are also expected in October at a price of 499 euros. Finally, the RGB Legion E510 headphones will be priced at 49.99 euros.

But it is that it is big this screen!
