According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s analysis of the Construction Safety Management Comprehensive Information Network (CSI) statistics, a total of 54 people died in construction accidents during the fourth quarter of 2022, and among them, 11 people died at the construction sites of the 100 largest construction companies, which is 6 This is a decrease of 35% (35%).
There are a total of 9 construction companies in the top 100 where deaths occurred. SGC Tech Construction had 3 deaths, and the other 8 companies had 8 deaths, 1 each.

On the other hand, in the 4th quarter of 2022, there were 12 organizations that ordered public works in which fatal accidents occurred, and the number of deaths was 14, a decrease of 7 compared to the same period last year.
The number of deaths from private construction was 40, an increase of 2 from the same period last year, and the permitting and permitting institutions with the highest number of deaths were Anseong-si and Hwaseong-si, with 3 deaths each. Among the private construction projects, 6 deaths occurred in directly managed construction projects without an authorization/permission agency.
Special inspections are planned for construction sites under the jurisdiction of subcontractors related to large construction companies where deaths occurred in the fourth quarter of 2022 until March.
In particular, since 2022, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been conducting intensive and detailed inspections by expanding the inspection personnel and inspection period for construction companies that have had fatal accidents or serious construction accidents for more than four quarters in a row since 2022.
In addition, through special inspections, intensive and precise inspections will be conducted on the sites of DLNC and SGCE Tech Construction to enhance company-level interest in site safety management and induce practical safety improvement at sites.
