The Saudi Al-Riyadiah newspaper confirmed the recent rumors regarding the coach and list of the Saudi national team that will participate in the 2023 Arabian Gulf Cup, which will be held in the Iraqi city of Basra.
The Saudi national team signed in Group A alongside Iraq, Oman and Yemen, and will open its matches on January 6 at the Basra International Stadium, facing Yemen.
Sports explained that Saad Al-Shehri, coach of the Olympic team, will lead Al-Akhdar in the Gulf 25, and the newspaper did not reveal the list of players by name, but indicated that it will include the Olympic team players with a number of the first-team players who did not mainly participate in the recently concluded Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Al-Riyadiyya indicated that the announcement of the list of players who will travel to Basra will be announced on the 31st of this December, and an internal camp will be organized in Al-Riyadi, which will include a friendly match before heading to Iraq.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi national team succeeded in winning the title 3 times in 1994, 2002 and 2003, and will try to search for the fourth title in the Gulf 25, all of whose matches will be held at the Basra International and Al-Mina stadiums.
