Al-Marsad newspaper: Nutrition experts have warned once morest eating bread on an empty stomach in the morning.
According to “The Health Site”, there are many side effects that your body can suffer from when eating bread on an empty stomach, and they are represented in 5 points:
1- High blood sugar levels
Because of the components of bread, it is able to raise blood sugar levels. It is important to remember that sudden increases in blood sugar levels can lead to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes
2- Weight gain
White bread is very high in the glycemic index, and one should note that eating foods with a high glycemic index (GI) can effectively increase hunger and also lead to overeating, thus this can lead to weight gain or even obesity;

White bread is rich in sodium, which is a source of bloating and other potential digestive health problems. Eating sodium-rich food first thing in the morning – on an empty stomach – is known to damage your stomach as it is difficult to digest, so never start your day with a piece of white bread.

The simple carbohydrates in bread are harmful to your bowel movement, and thus can cause constipation.
