Disciplinary Court punishes UC and Colo Colo for the Super Cup disorders

The Disciplinary Court passes sentence. After attending to the defense of Colo Colo, the Catholic University and the ANFP, the autonomous body ruled for the disorders that occurred in the Super Cupin the duel played in Concepción.

It should be remembered that the duel, which the Cacique won 2-1, was in question for long minutes and generated concern among the fans who occupied the Tegualda sector, one of the stands of the Penquista Municipal stadium. In fact, one of the fans of the strip group was seriously injured, following suffering a stab wound, and was transferred to a medical center.

In the five-page document, to which El Deportivo had access, the ANFP is blamed. “That it is also proven that the organizer of the Super Cup, and of the show in general, was the National Association of Professional Football and that in that capacity it should have foreseen the possibility of incidents between the fans if there was not a clear and important physical separation. between the two,” the letter says. “While it is true, the Head of Security of the ANFP in his testimonial statement gave a detailed account of all the planning and organization of the event, the hiring of a sufficient number of security guards, the placement of 1,500 “papal” billboards, etc. He also recognized that tickets should not have been enabled or sold in the lower Andes sector,” add.

Faced with such a scenario, and recognizing the ANFP in its responsibility as organizer, it was established that both Colo Colo and Universidad Católica must play a visitor duel without an audience, in the national tournament of the 2022 season. The clubs cannot go unpunished. “At a time when there is an absolute consensus on how dangerous acts of violence are in stadiums and the urgent need to prevent, combat and punish them, it is not possible to allow or accept that for the sole reason that the organizer of the show is not the club to which the participants in such acts adhere, they are outside the disciplinary/sports jurisdiction”, justifies the Disciplinary Court.

“Given the merit of what is stated in the recitals of this ruling and the provisions of the articles, also stated, of the Code of Procedure and Penalties, the sanction of playing, each of them, is applied to the Universidad Católica and Colo Colo clubs, an official match, in which it corresponds to them to act as a visitor, without the presence of fans, adherents, bar, partners, subscribers, or any other denomination. The aforementioned sanction, for each one of them, must be fulfilled in the next match of the First Division Tournament, season 2022, which following the date that this sentence is executed, it is up to the Universidad Católica and Colo Colo clubs to intervene. as a visitorsays the letter.

In the case of Colo Colo, the Disciplinary Court clarifies that the sanction must be fulfilled following ending the punishment that still drags due to the incidents that occurred in Antofagasta, last season. “It is stated that in the case of the Colo Colo club, the sanction imposed must be effective immediately following full compliance with the sanction of four games without an visiting public, which is being complied with at the date of notification of this sentence,” he closes.
