The line iPhone 15 It will only be officially launched tomorrow, but some people and specialized vehicles have already been lucky enough to get their hands on the new models. One of them was a YouTube channel PBKreviewswho took the chance to publicize one of the first teardowns do iPhone 15 Pro.
In addition to showing step-by-step how to completely disassemble the new model, the video also gives us the chance to take a look at the structural changes made by Apple to the iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max, which are more repairable than ever.
As explained by Maçã at last week’s event, the iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max have a new internal design that allows you to change the rear glass of the models without having to replace the entire smartphone housing. This change, as we said, also considerably reduced the amounts charged by the company for this type of repair.
In fact, according to this teardown, the Cupertino giant really wasn’t lying when it said this would make changing the part easier. According to the video, all you need to do to remove the back glass is heat it up, gently peel it away from the chassis, and disconnect the cable. flex which connects the part to the iPhone’s logic board.
In the end, these design changes were enough to give the model a score of 7 (out of 10) in terms of repairability:
Once this is done, the rear glass will completely disconnect from the device, along with the MagSafe coils and the camera flash LED. The part and the rest of the components are separated by an aluminum plate with the camera holes and MagSafe.
As noted by 9to5MacInterestingly, the A17 Pro chip does not have any inscription this year, unlike other components, such as the model’s vibration motor, which remains identified as Taptic Engine.
