A little over 300 people, according to the estimate of the organizers, took part on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. in a march in the Sonian forest to support the parents of Natacha de Crombrugghe, who are looking for their missing daughter in Peru at the end of January.
Natacha de Crombrugghe, 28, has been missing in Peru since last January. Her parents are there to try to find her.
In Belgium, friends and relatives of the young woman organized a march this Sunday morning in the forest of Soignes. The participants had dressed in green, as a sign of hope. Initially, on the steps of the Watermael-Boitsfort racecourse, they formed with loose sheets the hashtag #LookingForNatacha, name of the support group which feeds a watch on social networks. Each participant was invited to donate 10 euros to support Natacha’s research via the Child Focus foundation. Two courses of 6 and 10 km were proposed.
It’s so amazing that she left like that
Pia, Natacha’s grandmother, who took part in the march, confided in our microphone: “I’m happy to be here to do something for her. It’s so incredible that she left like that, and that no trace of her can be found. What happened? “, she wonders.
This walk was the means for the participants to bring moral support to his family. “The fact of finding all these people around us and seeing that we are all there, super welded, is very important for us. As Natacha’s relatives, we need to be surrounded and today , we see that we are, it warms the heart”, adds a participant.
“I wanted to support the parents and to make it clear that the efforts are continuing, it’s far from over for us. Our friend has disappeared and we simply want to find her”continues another participant.
Since April 6, Sabine and Eric, Natacha’s parents, have been in Peru trying to find her. Thanks to a video call, they might see the support of all the participants.
The committee behind the walk hopes to raise funds to help parents. “It’s to support them on the trips they make there. There are a lot of costs. There is also the reward offered of 15,000 dollars. You also have to be able to take them out”said a representative of the committee.
So far, the search has not led to huge advances, but the parents remain hopeful of finding Natacha alive.
