Disappearance of Ange-Antoine Agnetti: the criminal lead favored

While Ange-Antoine Agnetti has been missing since August 16, in the commune of Campo (South Corsica), the Ajaccio public prosecutor’s office has just announced that the criminal lead is now being favored.

The investigation originally opened for “worrying disappearance” has just been reclassified, according to Anthony Garcia, the Deputy placed with the Attorney General.

In view of the conclusions of the initial investigations carried out, the Ajaccio public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation on Thursday 22 August against unknown persons on the counts of “of arbitrary arrest, kidnapping, sequestration or detention without release before the 7th day and participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing a crime“.

The investigations are now the responsibility of an investigating judge, the deputy prosecutor informed us that he would not communicate any additional information on this case.

Contacted by telephone, the mayor of the commune of Campo, Joseph Quilici, did not wish to react, but expressed his deep emotion and that of the entire population at the announcement of this reclassification by the courts.

Numerous investigations have been carried out since the disappearance of Ange-Antoine Agnetti, “including witness interviews, vehicle searches and raid operations.”

As a reminder, Ange-Antoine Agnetti, 41, has been missing since late Friday, August 16 in the Campo area. His relatives raised the alarm on Saturday.

His car was found parked on the side of the road, near two paths popular with hunters and fishermen in the area. His phone was inside the vehicle.

A first search was organized on Sunday to try to find this trader from the Ajaccio region, originally from the village. A large police force was mobilized, with the support of the region’s inhabitants. Since then, the search has continued.

On Sunday evening, the gendarmerie issued an appeal for witnesses, specifying that at the time of his disappearance, Ange-Antoine Agnetti, “dressed in a dark manner”, “would have left on foot from Campo towards Santa Maria Siché”.

It is stated that “anyone with information that could guide the search is requested to quickly dial 0495109644”.
