Disappearance of a mother and her daughter in Ostend: Bénédicte and Léa found safe and sound

Bénédicte (35) and her daughter Léa (8) were found safe and sound on Friday followingnoon.

In good health, the child was taken care of by the competent services and should very soon be handed over to his family. It is not the same for his mother who should very quickly be heard by the police. Indeed, according to our information, the Liège public prosecutor’s office plans to put a file under investigation for “endangering a minor”.

The information is indeed still fragmentary, but it would seem that the mother took her daughter with her to an apartment of people whom she very recently met. Without a phone and cut off from the world, she would not necessarily have realized all the concern she had aroused around his disappearance.

As a reminder, on Friday July 15 around 9 a.m., Bénédicte and her 8-year-old daughter Léa took the train from Liège-Guillemins station in the direction of Ostend. They spent the weekend at the hotel, which they left on July 19 around 7:30 p.m.

Supporting images from the cameras at Ostend station, it appeared that the duo did indeed take the train around 8:45 p.m. to arrive in Liège around 11:20 p.m. There too, Bénédicte and Léa were filmed at Guillemins station. Since then, nothing.

However, it seems that following having stayed in an apartment in Liège during these few days, the mother would have taken her daughter back before returning home.
