On the night of February 28, an update for the Dota 2 client was released. With it, the developers disabled some of the functionality that was used by third-party software.

List of changes

  • Disabled “record” command in matchmaking games. It was used to create a real-time local demo that should not be “visible” to the client during the match. Demos will remain in local lobbies for use in creating SFM content.
  • When playing in matchmaking, some console commands that were used to access the client state will no longer be available. This applies to “dota_lobby_debug”, “cl_dota_ambient_tree_shake_cooldown” and “dev_simulate_gcdown” but not “ping”, “disconnect” and “dota_toggle_autoattack”.
  • Player profiles are now unavailable until the end of the draft stage
