Management at CPE Mamuse et Méduque is sounding the alarm. In recent days, a child at the center found a dirty syringe on the playground. CPE requires the Department of Public Health and Safety to develop a park monitoring plan.
One of the children found a syringe, and an educator found a bag containing cocaine near the CPE facility.
The institution is designed for the care and education of young children and is located near Pius XII Park. He often had to deal with homeless people in his neighborhood.
Management confirmed a letter had been sent to parents informing parents of the situation, and the incident demonstrates the importance of finding solutions to promote better cohabitation, or at least prevent a similar situation from happening again.
Trois-Rivières police, who were contacted to recover the syringes, claimed to be aware of the problem and ensured close surveillance of Pius XII Park on a daily basis.
