The American William Friedkindirector of the horror classic The Exorcist and the Oscar winner Contact in Francedied yesterday at the age of 87.
“Cinema lost a true scholar and I lost a true, dear and legal friend,” wrote the Mexican Guillermo del Toro on social networks.
The Oscar winner called Friedkin a “one of the Gods of cinema”. “It marked the course of my life in a different direction,” the horror director also commented Eli Roth.
