Director of Cyberpunk 2077 quests spoke about the main gameplay problems of the game

Quest director Cyberpunk 2077 Pawel Sasko during a recent live broadcast on his Twitch channel toldwhat I would like to change in the gameplay of an action role-playing game.

According to Sasko, there are still plenty of areas for improvement even following two years of patches. First of all, the developer singled out the reward system: “Cyberpunk 2077 bombards the player with so many items like it’s a looter shooter”.

At the same time, most of the loot is garbage that needs to be dismantled into parts and used to upgrade one or two selected types of weapons. Sasko believes that these two mechanics contradict each other.

Secondly, Sasko calls Cyberpunk 2077 too easy, especially when it reaches a certain stage of development: “I’m now at level 50 and just invincible… Defeated Oda and didn’t even break a sweat. It shouldn’t be like this.”.

Third, the enemies don’t force players to try different strategies to win – most opponents can be defeated using the same method. The gamer does not even need to think regarding how to overcome the enemy.

Sasko concluded that these problems stem from the nature of the open world in Cyberpunk 2077, but some other games have managed to avoid them. For example, to a previous CD Projekt RED project: “Even in The Witcher 3 It was better”.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and in 2023 on PC and current generation consoles will receive the Phantom Liberty expansion. Also under development is sequel codenamed Orion.
