Ukraine on Tuesday halted its search for survivors in the rubble of the residential building destroyed by a Russian missile in Dnipro, in the southeast of the country. This bombardment is among the deadliest since the start of the Russian offensive on February 24, 2022, with 45 dead and 79 injured.
“The rescue operations lasted 69 hours. […] 79 people were injured, including 16 children. 28 people are currently hospitalized, 10 are in serious condition. 45 people were killed, including six children, the youngest of whom was 11 months old“, wrote in the evening on Telegram an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
According to the Ukrainian presidency, some 1,700 people lived in the building. “236 apartments were damaged. More than 400 people are homeless“, added the adviser to the presidency.
At the same time, the head of British diplomacy James Cleverly on Tuesday justified sending tanks to Ukraine in order to help the country “to push back” Russians in the east and south of the country, while the United States has hinted that a new US military aid was in sight.
This morning, a helicopter crashed near a school in the kyiv region, killing 18 including the Minister of the Interior and three children.
On the Russian side, it is possible that Russian President Vladimir Putin will announce in the coming days a second wave of mobilization for the war in Ukraine, according to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
