Welcome to Anfield: A Premier League Showdown!
So many risks taken by Sanchez
Our dear friend Sanchez is living life on the edge, isn’t he? I mean, if this were a reality show, he’d be the one jumping from a plane without a parachute! He faced Gakpo’s pressing like a contestant dodging dodgy questions on a quiz show. His pass was so nearly intercepted, it was like watching a cat play with a laser pointer—exciting but terrifying! Thankfully, Sanchez managed to recover in fine form, and boy, did he breathe a sigh of relief!
Very enterprising taste
Meanwhile, the French full-back is out there treating his left-back role like a buffet! Maresca’s tactical menu allows him to roam high up the pitch like he’s looking for the best soufflé. Who knew left-backs could be so adventurous? Just wait until he attempts an Alain Ducasse-level entrée in front of goal!
Chelsea put their foot down
Here come the Blues, kicking up a storm! Madueke is lighting up the right side, serving theatrics like a Michelin-starred chef at his grand opening. Caicedo, in with a cheeky pass to Sancho, is like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat—only to execute it with Liverpool hot on their heels. Full marks for effort, boys, but as the old saying goes, fire without a plan gets you burnt! Or worse, stuck in traffic on the M25!
Very imprecise taste
But then there’s Sanchez again, trying to launch a long ball to Sancho. Now, I don’t know if he thought he was serving dinner or playing football, because that pass was about as accurate as my first attempt at parallel parking. Sancho puts it behind him—classic move, buddy! And then Gusto sends his cross into the heavens. Well, remember to pack a lunch if you’re aiming for the moon, dear boy!
The Reds are biting
And just like that, Liverpool turn up the heat! It’s like they’ve got a sixth sense, zipping around the pitch like kids on a sugar rush. Chelsea’s defense is holding strong, but it’s like trying to stop an avalanche with a feather duster—good luck with that!
Orange-yellow card for Tosin!
Quick, call the color theorist! We’ve got an “orange-yellow card” situation! Honestly, Tosin was more involved than your friend who just had too much coffee at brunch. The referee seemed more lenient than a parent at a toddler’s birthday party. Where’s the red? This is football, not Monopoly!
Liverpool are already demanding a penalty
Now, here come the Reds, waving their arms like they just spotted a celebrity. Jota and Salah were putting on a show, but alas, the referee decided to ignore the audition. My advice? Play it cool, boys! No one likes a diving actor, not even on the pitch!
James well on the right, Gusto on the left
Reece James has returned from the wilderness to reclaim his throne on the right! Gusto’s on the left and, let’s be honest, those two are playing formation like it’s a game of musical chairs. Just don’t knock over the tables, lads!
It’s off to Anfield!
The Chelsea Blues are launching the match like a starter pistol—you know they mean business! Who will come out on top in this emotional rollercoaster of a game?
It’s the “You’ll never walk alone” time
Ah, the iconic Anfield atmosphere! If you could bottle that energy, you’d have the perfect caffeine substitute! As the familiar tune resonates, you can bet the players are filling their shorts with a healthy dose of nerves. Let’s see if they can handle the pressure!
A still dazzling Cole Palmer?
Cole Palmer is strutting onto the pitch like he owns the place—6 goals, including a quadruple against Brighton! The fabric of the Premier League is about to be tested! Can he keep dazzling us or will it be like one of those fireworks that fizzles out before the big boom?
Manchester City becomes provisional leader
Pep’s boys have taken the lead, increasing the pressure on Liverpool. Can they answer back? There’s more drama here than in a soap opera, and at this rate, we’ll need popcorn!
Sacred clash of stars in perspective
With Manchester City and Arsenal breathing down their necks, Liverpool have no choice but to bring their A-game. The stakes are as high as a giraffe on stilts! And Chelsea? They’re right behind, just waiting to make their move!
The Chelsea eleven, Gusto holder, the flamboyant Palmer too
So, Enzo Maresca is mixing things up a bit—no Cucurella or Fofana, but Reece is back to strut his stuff! Gusto’s switched sides and Palmer’s on fire like a freshly lit bonfire. Tension? Yes! Drama? Absolutely!
Starting XI: Sanchez – James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Gusto – Lavia, Caicedo – Madueke, Palmer, Sancho – Jackson
The Liverpool line-up, without Alisson but with Konaté
With Alisson sidelined, Kelleher is stepping into the spotlight. It’s the perfect plot twist—what’s next on this crazy journey? Robertson’s back in action, overseeing the defense while Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, and Jota dance around the pitch!
Starting XI: Kelleher – Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konaté, Robertson – Gravenberch, Jones – Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo – Jota

So many risks taken by Sanchez
The Chelsea goalkeeper gets a real scare against Gakpo’s pressing. His pass is closely blocked by his opponent just in front of his goal, he recovers it with great success.
Very enterprising taste
The French full-back, if he plays in an unusual left-back position, does not hesitate to offer and project himself a lot. Maresca’s instructions allow him to evolve extremely high.
Chelsea put their foot down
Things are getting better for the Blues, in a good sequence. Madueke sets fire on the right and serves Caicedo, who was looking for Sancho in the area. Liverpool emerge.
Very imprecise taste
Superb long ball played by goalkeeper Sanchez towards Sancho. The Englishman puts it behind him for the French full-back, who sends his cross into the clouds.
The Reds are biting
It is Liverpool who are the most intense at the start of the match. Slot players move the ball around, quickly and well. The Blues defense holds but suffers.
Orange-yellow card for Tosin!
How lenient the referee is on this one! Liverpool recovers and Salah swings in front, Jota gets the better of the English defender, who knocks him down at full speed and prevents him from going to goal… The red could have escaped!
Liverpool are already demanding a penalty
First bleeding exit from the Reds, Jota extends towards Salah on the right. The Egyptian wants to play hard towards the area but Colwill then Lavia touches the ball with his arm, the last at the edge of his area… The referee doesn’t whistle anything though.
James well on the right, Gusto on the left
The captain of the Blues regains his preferred position. Chelsea are four behind but Gusto is positioned extremely high on the left lane, leaving the construction to his 3 defensive friends.
It’s off to Anfield!
It was the Chelsea Blues who launched this shock of the 8th day of the Premier League!
It’s the “You’ll never walk alone” time
Anfield welcomes the 22 players in a beautiful atmosphere. The inevitable “You’ll never walk alone” resonates and makes us nervous. John Brooks will be the arbiter of this poster.
A still dazzling Cole Palmer?
The England international has had a resounding start to the season with the Blues. He has 6 goals (including a quadruple against Brighton) and 5 assists in 7 games, just that.
Manchester City becomes provisional leader
Pep Guardiola’s players have just taken the lead in the Championship, thanks to a goal in added time in Wolverhampton (1-2). Now two lengths behind, Liverpool need a success against Chelsea to regain their due.
Sacred clash of stars in perspective
Under threat from Manchester City and Arsenal, Liverpool must win to maintain a small lead at the top of the Premier League. In machine mode, the Reds remain on six victories overall. But Chelsea also arrive launched and threaten behind the big guys in the championship. The Blues, who have not lost since the first day, would come within one point of Arne Slot’s players if successful.
The Chelsea eleven, Gusto holder, the flamboyant Palmer too
Enzo Maresca must do without suspended Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana. Reece James is making his comeback and will play his first minutes of the season. Malo Gusto switches to the left-back position. In very good form, Cole Palmer starts at number 10. Christopher Nkunku is on the bench.
Sanchez – James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Gusto – Lavia, Caicedo – Madueke, Palmer, Sancho – Jackson
The Liverpool line-up, without Alisson but with Konaté
Caoimhin Kelleher has the mission of supporting Alisson Becker, injured in his tendon, while Andy Robertson returns to the left-back position, as does Dominik Szoboszlai as leader. The Frenchman Ibrahima Konaté continues in central defense.
Kelleher – Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konaté, Robertson – Gravenberch, Jones – Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo – Jota
