The direct link between Toulouse et Doha is now open. This Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the first direct flight of Qatar Airways linking the capital of Qatar to the Pink City landed under a blazing sun, around 2:30 p.m., at the airport of Toulouse-Blagnac.
3 flights per week all year round
The Qatari company is therefore now opening three flights per week on board an Airbus A330-220, and throughout the year, between Toulouse and Doha (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). As a result, the capital of the Occitanie region becomes the fourth destination after Paris (18 vols), Nice (5 flights) et Lyon (4 vols).
Among the 210 passengers on board this first flight was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Airways Group, Akbar Al Baker. As a reminder, it was he who, in March 2023, announced the opening of the link between the two cities.

Present at a press conference, the boss of the Gulf company did not hide his joy. “Opening a line between Toulouse, the fourth largest city in France, and Doha sounded obvious to us,” he said. This dynamic city is greatly famous for its cultural and natural sites, but also its cuisine and even rugby”.
And to continue: “The expansion of Qatar Airways in France will strengthen the commercial and tourist links between our two countries and, of course, prepare the ground for future opportunities”.

On his side, Philippe CrebassaChairman of the Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, was pleased to be able to welcome within its infrastructure “one of the best airlines in the world”.
Thanks to this new connection, “the Doha hub will facilitate connections with Asia, Africa and Oceania for our French and international customers. This opening also creates new opportunities for international air freight transport from Toulouse”, continues Philippe Crébassa.

“This is a very strong signal sent to other major global companies”
In June 2023, Qatar Airways was ranked “second best airline in the world” in the Skytracks Awards. And since its creation in 1993, it has received the title of “best company in the world” seven times. “It’s a very strong signal sent to other major global companies,” says Philippe Crébassa.
With the inauguration of the Montreal-Toulouse line last month, operated by the company Air Canada, Toulouse-Blagnac Airport “is now taking on a global dimension. We believe that in the next 5 years, with Qatar Airways and Air Canada, we will offer a range of direct destinations or with easy connections on almost the entire globe”, concludes the president of the airport.
