Diplomats at the Israeli embassy in Cairo send a sharp message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tel Aviv

Cairo – Diplomats at the Israeli embassy in Cairo sent a clear and sharp message to the Foreign Ministry in Tel Aviv regarding relations with Egypt.

The Hebrew Channel 13 reported that, in light of Egyptian fear of an Israeli operation in Rafah that would lead to an influx of Palestinians into Egyptian territory, Israeli diplomats stationed in Egypt sent a clear and sharp message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in which they warned that there had been a breach in international relations.

Israeli diplomats confirmed that they are going through a “dramatic phase in relations with Egypt.”

They said in their message: “If there is an incursion from Rafah into Egypt, we will be in a bad situation.”

Earlier today, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry warned of the dangers of a possible Israeli military operation in Rafah, southern Gaza, because “this escalatory action entails grave humanitarian risks that threaten more than a million Palestinians.”

In the statement, Egypt called on Israel to exercise “the utmost restraint and avoid further escalation at this extremely sensitive time in the process of ceasefire negotiations and to spare the blood of Palestinian civilians who have been exposed to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip.”

Egypt confirmed that it “continues its contacts around the clock with all parties in order to prevent the situation from worsening or getting out of control.”

As a reminder, Reuters reported that Egypt raised the state of military alert in North Sinai, adjacent to the Gaza Strip, after the start of the evacuation of Gaza citizens from Rafah.

The agency quoted two security sources as saying that Egypt raised the alert level in North Sinai in conjunction with violent Israeli bombing targeting areas ordered to be evacuated east of Rafah in preparation for the start of the invasion.

Israeli Army Radio reported that Israeli officials informed Egypt yesterday of the start of the process of evacuating residents from Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday morning.

Yesterday, Monday, the Israeli army called on the Palestinians in the eastern areas of Rafah, numbering about 100,000, to move to a nearby expanded humanitarian area in preparation for a ground attack on the city located in the southern Gaza Strip.

During a press conference, the Israeli army spokesman called on Rafah residents to move towards the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, stressing that they would find full humanitarian aid there.

It is worth noting that the faction movement announced on Monday evening that it had informed the Qatari and Egyptian mediators of its approval of their proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

She said in a statement: “The Mujahid brother Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the faction movement, made a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Mr. Abbas Kamel, and informed them of the faction movement’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement.”
