News portal Delphi was the first to announce that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started investigations into the possible inappropriate behavior of E. Bajarūnas and another ambassador – Lithuania’s representative to NATO Deividas Matulionis.
This was later confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis.
As announced Delphiat the end of September, representatives of the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the Lithuanian Embassy in London, who carried out an assessment of the situation and interviewed a dozen employees of the diplomatic mission.
It has been established that E. Bajarūnas communicates incorrectly and impolitely with employees, many of them have experienced public insults, bullying, humiliating criticism, manifestations of verbal aggression.
According to the news portal, the employees pointed out that the ambassador is unable to separate private interests from public ones, possibly abusing his official position.
The long-time diplomat explained that the general inspector who wrote down the negative conclusions, carrying out the orders of the ministry’s leadership, selectively interviewed only a part of the people, the conclusions were leaked to the press, and he himself was not heard.
