It may have finally been decided to announce the position of the Artistic Director of DIPETHE Patras after many months when the theater is artistically bereft, but this does not mean that everything is rosy.
And this is because times are pressing, if we want to talk about summer production, since as is well known, most artists have already “closed” their summer obligations.
This and several other concerns are shared with pelop.gr by the member of the Board of DIPETHE and president of the Association of Friends of DIPETHE Patras Marianna Stamatiadou.

“The summer season is already gone” characteristically points out Mrs. Stamatiadou as the final data evaluation of the procedures is expected to take place next June. Continuing, he even emphasizes:I hope at least we get a program that includes a performance on the children’s stage or the main stage”.
At the same time, Marianna Stamatiadou points out that a good evaluation should be done so that mistakes of the past are not repeated and to choose a worthy Artistic Director this time who will be able to stand worthy of the history and course of DIPETHE Patras.
At the same time, she expresses her anxiety about the cultural development in the city of Patras, as she points out that at the moment in the Achaean capital there is a general lack of culture in terms of the municipal front.
The contract with the Region
At the same time, during the meeting of the Board of Directors of DIPETHE Patras it was also decided the signing of a programming contract between the Theater and the Region of Western Greece and the Ministry of Culture.
And while in previous years the contract with the Region of Western Greece was for one year, this year the contract is for three years.
According to the financial data, the program budget of DIPETHE Patras amounts to 155,000 euros per year, while the funding resources for its operation will come as follows:
- The Ministry of the Interior will give the amount of 80,000 euros every year
- The Region of Western Greece will give the amount of 25,000 euros every year
- The Municipality of Patreon will give the amount of 50,000 euros every year
The total amount of the program from the signing of the contract until its expiration amounts to 465,000 euros.
As for the chart of actions it is as follows:
- Winter production 2024: 60,000 euros
- Children’s stage 2024: 40,000 euros
- Other productions (Arma Thespidus – co-productions) 2024: 55,000 euros
- Winter production 2025: 60,000 euros
- Children’s stage 2025: 50,000 euros
- Other productions (Arma Thespidus – co-productions) 2025: 45,000 euros
- Winter production 2026: 65,000 euros
- Children’s stage 2026: 40,000 euros
- Other productions (Arma Thespidos – Summer – co-productions) 2026: 50,000 euros
