Diosdado Cabello, Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and a key figure in the regime of Nicolás Maduro suggested a military operation similar to the one led by Russia in Ukraine in Colombia. The controversial statement was made at a press conference of his party in which, although he stated that “he is not an expert on the subject” and asserted that “what happens in Ukraine, a new world order will emerge.”
“The more time passes, the worse for the Nazis in Ukraine because denazification will be root,” said Cabello. Later, the number two of Chavismo inquired: “Why don’t they take the opportunity to decocainize Colombia? Let’s see what’s left”he concluded.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which this Tuesday adjusts 27 days, has been strongly criticized by international diplomacy. United States, United Kingdom, European Union, among others, have taxes economic sanctions to aggression and have military backing of the government of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky in defense of the country. Likewise, to the worrying humanitarian situation that in less than a month has caused almost 3.5 million Ukrainians to abandon it.
In Colombia, President Iván Duque repulsed the invasion and lined up with other countries in the region and the world that have done so.
