Diosdado Cabello rejects EU sanctions relief

This Tuesday, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, led a press conference of the official political party, in which he mentioned the recent announcements of the European Union (EU).

The official spoke regarding the decision of the European bloc, from where Sanctions once morest Elvis Amoroso were removedpresident of the National Electoral Council, as well as three other figures who were part of the Electoral Power in the past.

“We do not need sanctions lifted, we have shown you that, despite the sanctions, we have moved forward”Cabello commented.

Amoroso did not accept the measureindicating that it is not general and urged that relief be extended to all those involved.

Peter Stano, Community spokesperson for Foreign Affairs of the diplomatic institutionnoted that the measure was taken to confirm the EU’s commitment to the elections in Venezuela.

“With this important and positive signal, we acknowledge the recent encouraging steps and reconfirm our commitment and support for the smooth development of the electoral process.”he explained.
