DIRECTOR Yandy Laurens announced her fourth feature film entitled Sore: Wife from the Future, which is adapted from the web series of the same name by Yandy. Afternoon Film: Wife from the Future starring Dion Wiyoko and Sheila Dara Aisha in the main roles. Previously, in the web series version, Dion was paired with Tika Bravani.
Afternoon: Wife from the Future is currently completing filming and preparing to enter the post-production stage. Filming took place in Finland, Croatia and Jakarta. This film is also the debut production independently of the Berita Films production house, which previously collaborated with other production houses in two feature films, Falling in Love Like in the Films (with Imaginari) and 1 Brother 7 Ponakan (with Mandela Pictures).
“I made the Afternoon web series when I was still dating and not yet married. And it’s a work romance my first. The perspective is certainly different, after eight years have passed. Now I’m married, have children, so views about relationship also growing. “Understanding new things, and learning to see from the other side of relationships,” said the writer and director of Sore: Wife of the Future Yandy Laurens during a press conference at the Artotel Senayan hotel, Jakarta, Monday, (11/11).
The film Sore: Wife from the Future still follows the journey of the two main characters, Jonathan and Sore. Sore is a woman who is full of love and always tries hard to take various methods to give the best to her husband. Meanwhile, Jonathan is a man with a very private personality, often neglecting his health when carrying out his profession as a photographer. Jonathan carries out his work in Croatia, a country where an unresolved past story continues to bind him.
“In Finland, we shot with about 10-12 people. Then when filming in Croatia, the crew grew a little, numbering around 30-34 crew along with local crew. In production, we design with a small team. We have scouting location since March. Its function is not only to measure production capabilities, but also to develop the script written by Yandy. “So in terms of production and story it can be quite precise,” said the producer of Sore: Wife from the Future, Suryana Paramita.
This is not the first time Dion Wiyoko and Sheila Dara Aisha have been paired together by Yandy. The two of them have previously paired up in the series Lost in Love, the web series Ending Love in 3 Episodes, and the film Falling in Love Like in the Movies.
“In this film, there are many layers that have been enriched by Yandy in the process eight years ago, quite a long time. It was very challenging of course to play Jonathan again. “There’s a lot of unfinished business for Jonathan, which can be answered in this film,” explained Dion Wiyoko.
Playing the character Sore, who is played by Tika Bravani in the web series, actress Sheila Dara feels that the character is very interesting. The wife of singer Vidi Aldiano admits that she is a loyal viewer of the Sore web series.
“I think the character of Sore is someone I really respect. There are many aspects of Sore’s character that I don’t have. She has extraordinary patience, her love and affection for her husband is enormous. Until you have the desire to be able to improve your husband to be better. To get to that point, Sore is a person who selfless. “He really can put other people first before himself,” said Sheila.
Afternoon Film: Wife from the Future is planned to be released in 2025. In total, so far, Yandy will release two feature films next year. First, is 1 Brother 7 Nieces which will be shown starting January 23 in cinemas. (M-1)
